The results of this human clinical trial clearly demonstrate the ability of d-ribose-l-cysteine (DRLC) to enhance glutathione levels in the body. Glutathione is widely acknowledged to be the body’s master antioxidant.
The patented DRLC molecule has already been the subject of over 50 peer reviewed and published studies spanning several decades. This clinical trial verifies that DRLC increases glutathione (GSH) levels in the cells of the human body.
To understand why this is important, please refer to this article “Why Does Your Health Depend on Glutathione?” (Pay attention to the linked list of health conditions.)
What You Need to Know
This human clinical trial was conducted over a 30 day period and involved a group of healthy individuals ages 38-60. They consumed 250mg DRLC daily (125mg early in the morning and 125mg about 12 hours later). This group as a whole experienced increased glutathione levels well in excess of 25% above baseline in red blood cells. This was a double-blind placebo controlled study.
Of particular note is that for the age group 51-60 the increase was about 64%!
Prior to the development of the DRLC molecule, the most effective way to enhance glutathione was with N-acetylcysteine (NAC) supplementation. NAC requires much higher doses and is administered three times per day. (The half-life of NAC is very short.) Even then, prior studies show that DRLC is up to 300% more effective than NAC at raising GSH.
The NAC molecule is too large to pass through the blood-brain barrier. So there is minimal impact on brain function. On the other hand, DRLC gets into every cell in the body, including brain cells.
This has significant implications for people over 50, those with chronic health conditions, and serious athletes.

Formulations Containing DRLC
The DRLC molecule is known by the name RiboCeine™. Currently there are four Max formulations that include RiboCeine™:
MaxOne: This formulation contains only RiboCeine™. Each capsule contains 125mg of DRLC. This is the formulation that was used in the study and participants followed standard package instructions.
Cellgevity: This formulation contains RiboCeine™ and 12 additional supporting ingredients. Cellgevity is considered our most advanced formulation. Each dose of Cellgevity contains the same amount of RiboCeine™ as MaxOne. I would generally recommend Cellgevity rather than MaxOne for anyone who has reached puberty or beyond.
MaxATP: This formulation is a performance drink that was designed specifically for professional and Olympic athletes. It enhances strength, endurance, mental focus and recovery from exercise.
Switch: This is our fat reduction (weight management) formulation.
